Hello

Post by Dannyholder »

I've been flying a Taylorcraft for the past two or three years. I'm looking really hard at a Maule. I have a grass strip just north of Cookeville, TN - Holder Field 4tn6 and need a plane that can get in and out with two people and a moderate load. I think I'm wanting to go with a nose gear this time around. I noticed two of you guys have trigears and in the area. Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to talking with you more.

Other than the obstructions, 2000 ft at 1100 ft should give you lots of options in the Maule line.

Hey, I fly down to Lebanon about once a month. I finished up my private with Don Reed many moons ago down there. Good group of people.

Welcome to the Maule addiction support group. We have a 12 step program to help you ease in to ownership. Always glad to help. There are a couple of us in the western part of NC so if you get to Hickory or Shelby area let us know we'll be glad to show you what we have.

John in Lenoir City and I in Knoxville both have tri gear and keep planes on grass strips. Unless you are rock jumping, there is no downside to a tri gear. Some say the tri gear has a shorter takeoff distance than the taildragger.

My wife and I fly over to your area a couple times a month. Mostly to McMinnville and and Nashville. PM me and let's see if we can get together and fly to McMinnville to have lunch at Billy's for a burger

You've got lots of room to get in and out with 2 people. No problems....
