What is your Height?

Post by Vtaildriver »

Would guys with the extended gear and bush tires let me know what the height of the top of the wing is. I am on the verge of buying extended gear and bush tires yet I have a hangar that has limited wing height and realize that I might not be able to accomplish it. I have a 1984 MX-7-235.

Needed data:
Type of Maule
Extended gear yes or no
Type of tires and inflation
Height to the top of the wing near the wing tip

With this data I will be able to figure out what combo would fit into the hangar. I will attempt to post a picture of the hangar.

Chris, I have an extended gear M7 on 8.50s at present. I'll try to remember to get wingtip top height but remember the antennas too.

I have a ton of room for the fuselage its just the wing area that I am worried about. Here are some pictures of a hangar like mine.

A point to add.
when the wings have little clearance, it is important to place blocks under the oleo bolts when leaving the plane for any time, as a tyre can lose air and airplane will tip and opposite wing contacts hangar.

Thank you Andy! And great point about the tire drop raising the other wingtip Jeremy.

My current measurements for a stock 1984 MX-7-235 is 79 1/2" to the top of the wingtip. To the bottom of the metal roof purlin is 92 1/2"

My M6 on extended gear and 26" Goodyear tires is 86". The antennas or a vertical prop needs more clearance.

Thanks Rick and chazdevil. I think I would be pushing it with extended gear and 31"s.
