That's a cool presentation, Sam; I hadn't seen that before, with the map and the photos integrated in that way.
Interesting trip, I'm sure.

Wow! What a trip! Lots of open water on that route. I still don't like flying over large bodies of water. Of course, the water is considerably colder here...
You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

flight to Capetown

Take care not to fly over the President's palace when approaching Wilson airport in Nairobi ..
Once in South Africa you will pass by not very far South and East of where my MXT-7 is based.
Let me know if you plan a stop-over at Virginia/Durban or in Pietermaritzburg (that would be about 30 minutes flight from where I am.

Wishing you all the best with your epic flight.

Hm, does your field have:

Avgas
Flying club
Local hotel/guest house

If so, and you want to do a braai (we'll contribute) then we might come and stop there! Please send me an email: sam at prepare2go dot com

Cheers! Sam.

Sam,

Been enjoying the photo blog, looks like one heck of a trip.

Are you flying down in formation with the twin that I see next to the Maule in many of the pictures or is that just a common airplane over there?

Enjoy the rest of your trip,
Andrew
