After a couple of emails back and forth with Duane from Maule Air Inc. We have discovered that the only reason the M5 210c and the 220 are stuck at the 2530lbs on the EDO 2440's, is that the FAA did not test fly them like they did with the 235's. I had asked why when I am running the SAME wings etc. on my 210 why was it stuck @ 2530lbs. and not 2750lbs. like the M5 235 ???
Anyway anyone running the EDO 2440's should email Duane at Maule Air and let him know if you would like the paper work to be done as well as myself. The more the better I say. I could sure use this extra couple of hundred pounds of usefull load on floats!Any thoughts guys?
Interested in upgrossing the M5 210c to 2750 lbs.? On EDO's

Good luck, don't think you're gonna get the GW Increase with the reduced HP from the Feds, which is probably why it was not done?

Upgross on floats
I thought the STC holder on the floats ( Edo, Aqua, etc.) were the ones who applied for the additional 200lbs at the time of the STC. If so then, EDO ( now part of Kenmore in Seattle ) would be the place to ask.
I would have thought the upgross was a function of the airframe and not the horsepower.
Anyone have any further wisdom on this?

There are modifications done to the wings to take the M5 from 2300lbs to 2500lbs on wheels, and 2530lbs to 2750lbs on floats.
As an aside... The MX7-160 fp prop is 2200 gwt
MX7-180 fp prop is 2400 gwt
MX7-180 cs prop is 2500 gwt
MX7-235, M7-235, M6-235 2500 gwt
Cost of certification, horsepower/ prop/thrust, and marketing, would all have an effect
