We are the couple that had a rough landing at Wilson Bar yesterday. We did survive the landing without a cut or scratch. We owe a huge deal of gratitude to: the original pilot who caught our signal, the Continental Flight 166 pilot who relayed the info, all of the folks at JC who helped us break camp yesterday, to Ray Arnold from Cascade (a nicer guy can't be found), and to the "Pilot" who guided our plane between the trees. Happy flying to everyone.

It was John and Laura Lee from Lebanon, Oregon.jkflyer wrote:We would really like to know who the Maule pilot was who relayed our call for help. Believe the N number ended with Bravo. We'd really like to know who to thank.
Glad your ok!

Jim wasn't the Lone Ranger this year! Below a Stinson flown by a man named Don from Alaska had some landing difficulties at JC. Don was unhurt and thankful he wrecked to the right side of the field instead of to the left where all the spectators and other airplanes were tied down.
In addition to these Two, an aircraft type unknown flipped at Mc CAll, 2 Cubs wrecked at Dixie, pilots condition unknown, and one aircraft enroute Warren over due and assumed down, S & R were contacting CAP via Airplane to Airplane comm. link when I was enroute from JC to Mc CAll.
The good news I managed to make my solo into JC with a good landing twice. I also gave Big creek a look at the Green Hornet.
Next month Flying B these old broken bones can't take the below freezing temps at night, no sleep does not a good pilot make.
But for you young folks JC is a great field for a base camp to the
Idaho strips. Hot showers, rent a van for $8.00 bucks and go to Yellow
Pine for a prepared lunch and provisions at the General Store. Really nice camp sites with fire rings for bar bq. And there is a bunk house with 5 bunks. You need your air mattress and sleeping bag and lantern.
