Hello Maule Pilots,
I have a 1973 Maule M4 210C. What my questions are:
1. Is the gap seal kit purchased from Maule or just completed with aftermarket products?
2. Does the gap seal kit/tape go on clear or does it need to be painted?
3. Does this installation require just an A & P sign off or a field approval?
Thanks!

Gap seal install
Kit from Maule is complete. You will need a nylon squeegee and a very dilute dishwashing liquid solution. Measure and follow instructions.
I guess getting a sign off would be a good idea. Gotta remember to do that.
Tape is clear and as far as I know will not hold paint.
Clean hands is a must.

Honda Trail 70?
Hello Mr. AH-64,
I'm sorry you were not able to qualify in the UH-60 like me, "just kidding". Anyway the Honda Trail 70 is a tight fit in the Maule. It only weighs 140 pounds and will go 35 mph. I did have to fold down the handlebars to get it in the plane, but the tie-down straps fit better with the bars up.
On another note, do the gap seals really make a difference? I have the VGs and have not had any control problems. The 8.50s I recently installed are just perfect for the type of flying I'm doing now too.
Thanks,
James
