If I remember correctly, Maule told me 3-5psi.

3 psi is 0.2 bars, so it matches. I prefer staying conservative on the low side, rather than hearing them banging. Thanks

I used Barry mounts and haven't regretted it yet.

I used a shop vac (a clean one) exhaust to pressurize the tank. I just stuck the hose in the filler tube and slowly added tape until it built pressure. You will start to see the tank expand if you go too far. Get to that point and remove some tape to adjust.

So you just pressurized the tank and look for leaks with I guess some soapy water? EAA in Italy requires me to do a 24hrs hold pressure check.

A liquid column manometer is an easy and safe way to test the tank.

If the tanks are not in the wing, just fill with gas, as any leaks will leave blue stains, especially if left overnight, then transfer to next tank etc.

Fuel can leak thru cracks/pinholes water won’t get thru. You can guess how I found this out.

Yes, soapy water. Be ever careful about contamination when you put it back in! Good time to replace rubber fuel lines.

Out of 4 tanks only one was leaking, there was an almost invisible crack just under the refilling port, probably the fuel pistol hanging there doesn't make any good to the thin aluminum walls.
I already had it welded.

could anyone share a picture of the top and bottom part of the wing, at the aileron cable exit? I need to judge how apart from the skim does the cable get at the max deflection. I intend to install a fairing to cover the damaged exit holes and prevent water and dirt to get inside the wing. So I need to know how high it should get without getting in contact with the cable.

Those holes were holding a piece of phenalic rubbing guide with a slot which the aileron cable goes through. You can measure the horns of the aileron and add clearance for the nicopress, the thimble, and the bolt. The fairing seems like a reasonable idea however you would need to remove it often to assess the condition of the cable.
