great, more pix of new Zealand when you can... one of the most beautiful countries in the world.... shipped a Pacer to New Zealand many years ago after we restored it... had a hell of a time getting it there as we made the awful mistake of leaving a fire extinguisher in the plane when we crated it... New Zealand authorities were gonna send the whole thing back just cause of the fire extinguisher....

Hey Kiwi! Is it possible for someone from the American continent to rent an airplane in NZ?? I would love to fly there someday, and experience a bit of what you experience!! In some ways it is remarkably similar to Alaska, without the extremes.

Land of the long white cloud
These folks do tours in their fleet, all have training wheels unfortunately.

I was looking into flying in Australia and it looked pretty straight forward, but have not looked into NZ. I am guessing the routine is about the same.
Current license, medical, submit to aviation authority and take a check ride. There is always paperwork.

Matt and Jo who own and run Flyinn are good friends of ours and run a great business! They take you around some awesome parts of NZ and are based in one of the nicest parts of the country. Highly recommend talking with them if you are looking to come here. Some parts of the South Island are a lot like Alaska on a much smaller scale. Finding a Maule or similar to hire on a foreign licence validation is a little harder due to insurance limitations and most are privately owned. Contact me if you do come over, I'm sure we would be able to come to an arrangement. My M5 is in the hangar getting re-covered at the moment.
