Very Reasonably Priced LED Landing Lights?
Hello Maule Pilots,
I'm finishing up an FAA 337 Field Approval for a Wig-Wag lighting switch for my Maule M-4. So I'm considering including a set of non-PMA'd Par 36 LED Landing Lights in this approval. Has anyone ever used or know a guy that used these $34.99 LED lights in this link?

Anyway they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the LED Lights from Aircraft Spruce, and fit in the original 4509 brackets. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James

At that price I'd be inclined to buy a pair and install them for testing purposes, taxi at night, etc. That way if you don't like the function send them back and save the paperwork effort.

Hello Mt. Flyer,
I actually went with this water-proof version of LED light, and got it approved on my FAA 337. Still way less expensive than the Aircraft Spruce version.

"SEE AND BE SEEN"!
Hello Maule Pilots,
The LED lights & Wig-Wag switch is installed and actually legal. $238 total in parts. Very happy with the installation. "SEE AND BE SEEN"!

Hello Dan,Danws wrote:How do your new lights compare to the old bulbs.

The new LED Lights fit perfectly into the original brackets. They are more visible than my old 4509 lights. I'd compare them to the LED lights you see on oncoming new cars that are so bright, even on low-beam. That said, they don't put out a concentrated light beam like the old lights (4509), but that's OK.
These are the lights I installed, the 30 degree 13 watt version:
