Aux Power Receptical

Post by belandd »

Do any models come with an aux power receptical?

I thought it might be handy especially in the winter, to be able to commect to aux power.

I work for a Part 135 operator that just bought a real nice aux battery pac that we use for ops checks of the radios, GPS etc and for starting when temps are low.

It seems to be an easy installation. Most Cessnas come with them.

Thanks

We have 2 models approved. the Piper one and the 3 prong one.. location is dependant on battery voltage and location.

the only exterior placement is on the 180 and 160 and 420 hp models. that is installed at the boot cowl. 235 and 260 models are located at the rear bulkhead in order to keep the battery cables as short as possible.

Bryan can get you some more info if You'd like.

cheers

The rear mounted one for 235 and 260 is mounted in the wrong place.
Having jump started the plane you now have to pull the cable from the "Interior" rear bulkhead, replace the seatback, then close the rear baggage door against the prop blast which is icy, in winter, when you most likely need it. Whoever dreamt that up at the factory?
The sensible placement is outside the plane behind the baggage door.
