Gar Aero adapters

Does anyone here know why adapters are needed for mounting 29" gar areos on a ten inch wheel. I've never seen these myself. Also, I've seen ads for tires set up for 1 1/12 inch axles, can these be mounted on standard axles as well. Thanks

the gar's are adapters that glue onto your standard 6" cleveland wheel and allows you to mount a tire intended for a 10" wheel. the most popular is usually the 29" x 11" airstreak. but i have also seen 8.50 x 10's which are a little smaller.
Floats Alaska in anchorage has bought the company from the original owner. and they have put them back into production.
