M4-220C Firewall/fuel filter/fuel pump

Post by johnmo61 »

I'd like to get some input on how I should refinish the cabin and engine side of my firewall. I believe it is of a soft material, possibly galvanized. Not sure what they used in the 70's, drawings on CD don't mention material.

I was thinking of Cerakote paint for the engine side or just epoxy prime it. Pro's/Con's?

Not sure if I like to redo the cabin side with Naugahyde.

Also, Is the Gerdes fuel filter still used? Are parts available?
Any issues with the Duke electric fuel pump?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, you've gone and done it now!!

New firewalls are stainless. I used a fiberglass/silicone material from Spruce on the interior side of mine, and reused the fuel pump and gascolator. Didn't do anything to the engine side with the stainless.

Aren’t Nauga’s currently on the endangered species list?
