M-4 to M-4C conversion?

Post by zamfire »

I have asked Maule this but I'm sure they have better things to do because I haven't heard back from them.

Can you modify an M-4 to an M-4C? What are the differences apart from the engine? You can modify an M-4C by putting an O-300 in it, but there is as yet no modification kit for putting a bigger engine into an O-300 powered M-4. So by making mine an M-4C, I'd have more options.

Does the M4-C have the bigger rear cargo door, for example? Any airframe differences? Anyone know?

The C part of M4-C simply means it has a cargo door. I am not aware of any other major differences aside from that.

This is my understanding too. But Maule has no modification kit for an M4 to M4C that I know of. If I ever get to recovering my fuselage, I would certainly like to add the cargo door.

I'll have to get somebody at Maule on the phone one of these days.
