Watched a video or two on the process. Cool stuff! That would be so cool to paint a plane with. Don't like it anymore? Peel it off and shoot something different.

I wondered if it would be okay on high-speed stuff, then I remember we're flying Maules.

Sadly, it's not fuel resistant, so you'd really have to be on your game when filling the tanks.

It looks heavy, too, if one were to consider it to cover a whole airplane. Maybe no heavier than a Polyfiber vinyl topcoat, though.

It is very forgiving. And it looks fine...at a distance, and at 100 knots, and at 200 agl... I applied it liberally on leading edge of horizontal stab and brace where rocks hit, as it is a rubber like protectant. we'll see if it stays.

It is really neat stuff. Rattle can, or did you choose another application method?

This spray on film looks fun. I am guessing it was never designed to be permanent.

After viewing the video about peeling on Dip Your Car, the one issue that would give me pause is what would happen if at 120 kts an edge came loose and a panel were to peel off in flight ending up on a control surface.

This might be a non-issue with this product, I don't know.

Have fun.

It crossed my mind as well. But could you imagine paint like that? Nothing like that in the Polyfiber catalog!

I had a small area, so used rattle cans. It doesn't flow like paint, so you can fill in or spot spray and it doesn't look mottled. I think it will last well...and if it peels off...re-do it, or change the look. I am planning on changing the look after every marginal landing when observers are present!

I have experimented with peeling it off, and it takes some work to get it started. After that, it doesn't just fall off. I don't expect it to part company at 120.

Reminds me of a Johnny Dangerously scene when they were pulling coatings off of their escape vehicle. Waiting to see photos of your duckies and bunnies covering!

Next version  Chris, I can tell you are tempted to play with it! Wal-Mart in our area carries it, tho I ordered because they didn't have the color I wanted. You can try it literally risk free! Just peel it off! Post pictures...

After i had my maule painted last year i had a local vinyl shop make my n numbers. They do everything from small stickers to wrapping whole vehicles. He said he could have wrapped the plane for 3500. Endless design possibilities. Just a thought

I wondered about that. You can use photographs too? It seems that any of these would also protect the original paint and fabric.
