Calipers on spring gear
Was looking at friends spring gear Maule and noticed the single puck calipers mounted on the back side. Is this proper or does the spring model need calipers up front just like on conventional gear. If so does anyone have a pic of proper hose routing, etc.

Single puck calipers can be fore or aft as they can be mounted high enough that they won't catch an over soft or flat tyre, however the double puck caliper should be on the front as they can only be mounted down low and on the front they won't catch a soft tyre as it is rotating away (unless you are going backwards). On earlier wide gear you have to relieve the front bottom corner of the gear leg. There is an approved drawing to do this.
