Patroller window installation (again)

Post by Njacko »

This has been covered in several earlier threads, but many of their photo links are now broken, so here are some pictures of a patroller window in an existing MX-7 door:

Incidentally, is there a factory drawing for this type of patroller window installation, or is #9110F (where the window is riveted directly to the steel frame) the only one?

Maule does use the no rivet through plexi installation so presumably there is a drawing.
Similar to your installation, I use 1/2' aluminium angle extrusion and only three stainless sheetmetal screws in vertical end pieces and 4 screws across bottom and top.
Be sure to run a bead of silicone sealant around the door latch barrel as this stops the massive amounts of cold air that enter at ones elbow via the slot in outer skin.
