I've talked with the Stewart people a couple of times at Sun n Fun. I like what they tell me. I'll be very interested it how it turns out. Did you use their fabrics and glues? He came by my M5 and took a look said I could save a bit of weight using there total system. I like that is a lot friendly than some more traditional systems. My Dad had a paint contracting business for a while and I use to spray apartments mostly and some specialty stuff in a meat packing plant once. Even with forced air that stuff could get to you. Anyway I am inspired by your work keep the updates coming.

Flattered I am. However, it does have some flaws but it will best to see it after the paint "settles". Again, I have to give kudos to Stewart's. Several calls for clarity of mixing instructions and they were awesome support. Even calling back ro make sure we were on the same page.
A bit of a break for the holidays and stripping early next week.I have to say I appreciate the encouragement and support this being my first rebuild there has been a very steep, vertical learning curve.
Happy Thanksgiving all!

be glad you live in a state where you can still be free to do things to your own property without big brother requiring a permit or license.... here in Kalifornia we don't paint as it requires all kinds of shit... instead we "apply Color"....so when asked if we are painting we say no.... applying color.....looks good Kurt...

Is that true in general, or only if you choose to live in a planned community, with covenants? Or is it all planned communities in California now? Or are you referring to some sort of environmental regulation about painting? I was assuming you were referring to covenant restrictions regarding color, but maybe I got that wrong.iceman wrote:be glad you live in a state where you can still be free to do things to your own property without big brother requiring a permit or license.... here in Kalifornia we don't paint as it requires all kinds of shit... instead we "apply Color"....so when asked if we are painting we say no.... applying color.....looks good Kurt...
There are plenty of planned communities in Alaska now too, at least around Anchorage. Not sure about painting restrictions, but they do seem to have rather uniform, conservative paint schemes in those neighborhoods.
Sorry for the thread jack, YellowMaule; my curiosity got the better of me.

It's been a long and busy year for you, but now all that effort is starting to look really worthwhile! Congratulations on seeing light at the end of the tunnel and having such a good looking plane to show for all your efforts.
