I'm a new Maule owner (1966 M4 210C, big tires), interested in others' experiences with this model and it's operation (hot start and RPM/MP practices, etc). Planning a Northern-tier route CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, Great Lakes, VA, NC, FL for October, camping.
Thanks!

Hi!
I own a 68 210C. I’ve spent the better part of a year getting into flying shape. Mine is on 22”s VG’s and elevator gap seals.
It’s an incredible performer with good climb at gross weight right up to the oxygen altitudes. 600’ strips even at 4000 density altitude are non events.
I tend to cruise 24x24 leaned for best power and get 115-120 KTAS for 9 GPH. Hot starts are a blip of prime (ft full rich and only a second of boost pump) leave the mixture in and 1/2” of throttle and crank. Starts great all the time, even in the heat of the summer.

If you make it to BC I’ll take you out to some great beaches and back country strips.
