Tri gear crosswind landings

Post by frfly172 »

With the Tri gear are crosswind landings more difficult than other Tri gear airplanes?

No! It's a matter of practice & proficiency along with familiarity with aircraft. I'm quite comfortable in mine @ 15 Knots direct X wind with 40' flaps 40 to 45MPH touchdown speed wing down into the wind, just remember as X wind component increase flaps need to be decreased and forward speed increased to avoid running out of rudder for longitudinal alinememt. Don't forget to add aileron into the wind on rollout, stay on that upwind wheel as long as possible.
