Power/Mixture setting for climb at altitude

Post by Victor Gennaro »

Hi, what mp, rpm and mixture setting is best to optimize climb performance at higher altitude? For example if one is crusing at 5,000 feet (MP 23, RPM 2300) and the mixture leaned and you wanted to bring the plane up to 10,500. What settings would you use and how lean of a mixture. I fly a M7-235-c with a carb. I find my performance is pokey and wonder if my mixture is too rich. Is it me, too fat? Any Thoughts?
