I learned how to take off in my Maule using 1notch and full three point to ground effect. Though its not great for Xwind, it makes take off much easier for pilots that are lacking rudder skills. Since then I have learned to take off with my tail up the way it generally should be, but I do certainly think a three point take off has its place and quite frankly it's very stable and in a way much easier than a traditional takeoff.
