Optimum cruise speed at 7000ft, 59degF at sealevel and 3.5deg loss per 1000ft alt, i.e. 34degF will give you a TAS of 140mph on 7.00 tyres with stock prop and basic antenna and light. TAS being a 2%/1000ft, i.e. 14% times your IAS. That would be full throttle, enabling 22.5 " MP.
That'll get you started.

Too true, however you know what it should be, as you will loose 1" for every 1000ft above SL. If it happens to be standard 29.92 then with the normal 1/2" induction air loss you will have 22.5" at 7000ft. he Lyc. engine ops. book will show the graphs for horsepower reated to temp. and fuel flow.

Wup- If you go to "flymaule.org" and go to "downloads" and "popular" there is the Lycoming Performance charts for the 0-360A, C. That gives you some ballpark settings from the factory.

Yes, she definetly is a beauty. I am envious and happy for you. Have lots of fun. And you learn flying in it, the real flying, by using a real taildragger.
