Kalifornsky Meadows Airpark Fishing on the Kenai Fly/Drive

Post by 8714yy »

Kalifonsky Meadows Airpark Massive Sockeye Run!

Come Camp, Drive, Fish, Fly – Join us around the campfire!

Dave Yragui will be opening up the private, gated Kalifonsky Meadows airpark from July 15th through July 25th to pilots and/or individuals who might be interested in seeing what the airpark is all about. There are 3 cabins available, first come first serve to stay in out of the weather.

During this same time period last year, 462,461 Sockeye Salmon (Reds) ran up through the mouth of the Kenai River. This happens every year around this time of year. We call these particular sockeye, Kenai HOGS, they are so BIG! Much larger than the Kasilof reds or the Copper River reds, and SO FRESH, some of them are still carrying the sea lice from the open ocean on their backs. If you have never tasted a Kenai Red, you are in for a treat!

Joe and Doralee Stancil along with Mike and Denise Jones will provide the fish cleaning station, porta potties, outdoor showering facility and a place to park your camper, tent, boat and/or plane. The best way to do it is set up camp on site, and then fly your plane back and forth for several days of fishing and camping fun OR just bring your camper and stay the full 10 days! Overflow parking will be provided on several cleared lots.

Come Join The Fun!!!
Fishing, Camping, Flying & Friends!
It can’t get any better!!!!

The Kalifonsky Meadows Airpark is located just 3 miles from the mouth of the Kenai River. Bring your camper, tent, boat and/or plane for 10 days of FUN!!
