Idaho end of August

Post by Rezrider »

We're heading up to the pan handle area the 23rd to the 31st of August. If anyone is around to meet up then that would be great.

The overnight stops (in rough order) include: smiley creek, moose creek, magee (maybe), cavanaugh bay on priest lake, schaefer meadows or meadow creek in MT, smiley creek on the way home.
We'll hit some other strips on various day trips along the way.

Shoot me a message if you are in or near those areas.
I'm also open to suggestions for places to visit.
Cheers,
RR

Sounds good Dan. We'll keep an eye on the fires and modify if need be.
Looking forward to finally maybe meeting up with you out there somewhere!

Sounds great I would love to go with you all but I'm unfortunately thinking I may be recovering from back surgery. I herniated a disk and have been having some issues since Tammy and I came back from Cavanaugh Bay a couple weeks ago.

Next flight for me may be commercial to University of Washington to consult a neurosurgeon.

All those years of healthy eating and regular exercise catching up with me.

Thanks guys.

I don't want to drift this great thread off topic so I hope you all get together at our happy place, JC, and drink a beer in my name.

I'll be with you all next time.

With God's will I'll still make it out this season. It seems I flunked my own annual .

I'll keep you all up to date as I get treated and start recovery.

Prayers appreciated.

Make sure all repairs are per manufacturers service manual and parts are PMA'ed and yellow tagged.

First time around I asked the doc to put in a couple of non-standard spacers to remedy height challenge but could not get a 337 for that.

man....it's looking smokey up there. Fires everywhere.
We may have to go somewhere else.
Can anyone in that region give us a smoke/fire report?
Thanks.

Good luck with that trip. Right now, Aug. 23, Meadow Creek, Mt. is about to burn. I was in there a few weeks ago and lots of fuel. Really vulnerable for a fire. In fact I think they were going to close Meadow Creek.
Schafer. Mt. has not burned and looks ok except there are big fires all around it. Lots of smoke in the area and TFRs.
Idaho is a smoky mess.
My place, MT21, is under a TFR and was in danger of burning a few days ago but it looks like they have the Sucker Creek fire under control. Whew!
This fire season is really cutting into our camping trips.
