Talkeetna Fly-in

this year we will be having the 6th annual hudson memorial fly in in talkeetna ak on may 16-17. fly in campers are also welcome to come in on friday evening.
i am organizing a fly out geocaching event this year, that i hope is even more fun than last years aerial scavenger hunt. we also have paul claus as our guest speaker. he will be talking about backcountry communications. there is also a local geocaching event for the kids.

For those of you that did not do the geocaching event last year, it is a must do. It was well organized and challenging despite the Chulitna pulling a trick or two. For a first time event, they really pulled it off well. This year should be that much better.
And then there's the pancake breakfast...

i should also mention that prizes for the poker run, aerial geocaching, and airplane contest include $250 and $500 fuel cards, GPS, northern companion heaters, gift certificates from aviation vendors and local businesses, and much more !

the weather is looking great for our fly in this weekend.
tonight is a bbq and cook out. tomorrow night is the Norwegian candle fire at the airport. i have heard a rumor that the staff of denali brewing company will be bringing us something special. you will have to show up to find out!

dont forget to stop at up to 3 additional airports enroute to TKA, take a digital photo with a distinguishing feature of that airport, and bring them to the event booth when you arrive to get your cards for the poker run prizes.
