A gargantuan undertaking

Post by chris erasmus »

It took a great deal of effort and searching but I am happy to report that the second annual Maule fly in to the Richtersveld and West coast will now consist of 6 Maules. That is a 300% growth from last year! and represents 90% of all the Maules flying in South Africa.

It is going to be a great off airport trip. We also managed to add 4 more instructors rated for the M5 M6 and M7 types
These are indeed exciting times, I suspect it will also be the first ever "international" Maule fly in with Patin loco coming from E Salvador to join us.
We are ever hopeful to have some more "foreign" pilots join us in the future

It's going to be an awesome trip, 12 hours of flying and 1 560 miles in 5 days, and a nice bunch of guys, and maybe a one girl

Good on ya for putting this together. Now you have to post lots of stories and pictures of the adventure as it happens!

haha the Maule is a very capable airplane, but man she is uncomfortable on a long trip, my personal limit is 2 hours, then the pain exceeds the pleasure.

often have to do 4 hours at a stretch, extremely unpleasant
