fly in

Looks as if the Backcountry Pilot group punted on a fly in this year.

We are looking at Johnson creek again as a base for playing in the back country. Probably last week in June before July 4th crowds.

I think the Supercub group shows up the weekend before.

Are you guys implying that us West of the Mississippi guys should organize a Maule pilots gathering somewhere in Idaho?
We won't call it a fly-in!! That BCP debate on the matter made my head spin.

Lets think on this and throw some ideas around.

If a group of friends decide to camp together, I don't see the harm.

BCP had over 100 planes last time it was at JC and I can see the Idaho Aviation dept's issue with two 100+ plane fly ins on succeeding weekends. It really beats up the facility.

Last year we went the week ending on July 4th and there was a lot of people there but nowhere near 100 planes.

Going much later starts putting you into fire season. I don't know what the snow pack is in ID, but if it is anything like the Central Cascades it is going to be really dry.

Cheers,

Tom
