I finally got permission to land at the Flying Circus Aerodrome in Bealton, Virginia. For 40 years a group of pilots has been putting on an airshow at this strip every Sunday from May through October. It is a happy family atmosphere with picnic grounds and just really fun flying. After the show they invite the audience onto the field so they can see the planes up close and ask questions about flying. I had one 11 year old boy spend a good 30 minutes asking about the various control surfaces, what the trim tabs were for, what the plane was made out of and other great questions. It was a GREAT afternoon.
