It was a great event and it was nice to meet fellow Maulers. The food was good, the company was great, and there were many nice planes to look at. The smoke was significant but not too bad. Joseph is a premier aviation destination.

Wup, you Nicole and the Wallowa County flyers did an excellent job in what turned out to be a challenging situation Friday and Saturday with the fires and smoke conditions and all the active fire fighting folks on the airfield.
Looking forward to a trip with less smoke and no TFR's to get out and get some dual in the mountains and canyons.
I was pleased so many folks decided to make the trip. The town was over flowing with folks for the Bronze, Blues & Brews just like the airport was for the fly-in.
Disappointed the weather was not going to hold to allow staying longer.

Met some great maulers and other aviators and had a good time. Thanks again to your boys for the loan of their pick-up.

I was off at 5:45, and beat feet back West at 8500 arriving home just before dusk. The old Apollo KX55 gps was a helpful tool in the smoke and haze flying into the sun. The smoke obscured the mountains to the North and South, but left a decent flyable path out of LaGrande to Kimberly VOR and then West to Madras, over the Cascade Range just North of Mt Jefferson and back into the Willamette Valley.

The ole M6-180 performed flawlessly at 22" 2300r's and made 115kts.
Left Independence State with 66 gallons, finally got room in the mains on the way back from Joseph to drain the outboard tanks about half way back, and landed with more than 1/2 full main tanks when I got home. All in all a sweet trip! Thanks for the invite!
