Low AM ceilings

Post by grub »

Looks like low ceilings in the mornings next couple of days. No worries with skydivers now, but those dog-gone cell towers........ One day they aren't there, next day they are..... Guess we'll wait till the ceilings move up some...

Wish we could have made it down. That bad four letter word "work" has gotten in the way again.

Thanks to the Maule family

Post by grub »

Just wanted to thank the entire Maule family for a wonderful time. The hospitality was second to none and we know that a lot of folks worked very hard before, during, and after the homecoming.

As usual, our Maule hauled a bunch of stuff there and back and we can't say enough about how it performed. If by chance you are thinking about buying a Maule, stop thinking and just do it.

I wasn't feeling that great Friday night nor most of the day Saturday and Saturday night it hit me hard....sick as a dog :-( I wasn't able to hang around for the BBQ dinner.

Still had a great time!

Wish I could have made it. The weather was crummy here and all along the route to Moultrie. Even if it had been good, I've been getting ready for a trip to Ireland next week. Any Irish Maulers in Shannon, Limerick or Galway?

Great time in Moultrie ! Thanks to Brent & Paula, Kit & Michelle (great boiled peanuts Kit), Brian W. for the excellent window mod and the fabric repair lesson, Duane K. & Brian H. (for the great Chicken, Pork Butts, Corn, Beans, Slaw, P. Salad and comedy by the fire Friday night), Susan Maule, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Maule, and all the others in the Maule Family for a great 2nd Annual Homecoming. I really enjoyed touring the factory and seeing how these planes are literally hand-made. The highlight was getting to meet the infamous Raymond Maule. I know he is proud of his family for continuing the Maule legacy. Prayers go out to him for a speedy recovery.

Congrats to.....

Russell won the Short Takeoff, Spot Landing, and Short Landing in the Over 200 hp category with his Maule M-7-235C.

Jarrard won the Spot Landing competition in the Under 200 hp category. He landed directly on the line with his Maule M-5-180C.

Dave won the Short Landing in the Under 200 hp category with his 1964 Maule M-4 145 hp.

Dick and Kevin won the Flour Drop, with the flour bag hitting just 3 feet from the center of the target.

Thanks for that link!

2 standout impressions: Some dang fine looking BBQ and wicked accurate flour bombing!

Like I said last year; hope to see you all next year!
