Quick update for those who couldn't make it or are planning to join us today: There were 20 Maules here as of Friday night. More great weather and flying still left in the weekend, hope to see some more arrivals today.

We made the fly in and had a great time. It was great to meet people in person who participate on the forums.
I had a flat tire on the tail wheel as we started to taxi out for departure. within minutes we had a cloud of helpful volunteers who jumped in and helped us fix the tire and get on our way.
Thanks to everyone who donated time or door prizes to make this event a success.
PS If you are tent camping check, check, and triple check your packing list so you don't forget your sleeping bags at home.

And a bigger hammer for the local soil conditions, my tent stayed secured once I had the right tool for the job, thanks Tom!

Great to meet and see everyone again, had a blast checking out the area during the various fly-outs and catching up.

I am still trying to compile my pictures and videos but will update this if I find some good ones.

After returning to the chaos of work.............my mind drifts back to Llano and the fly-in. Other than more flying, it would be hard to improve on the weekend. The weather was cooperative (other than the 40 degree night). Airplanes were true to form and the company excellent. Met some new and rekindled some others. We are very blessed to have such a beautiful area and good folks to share it with. I said all that to say this.....great appreciation to all who toiled and put this together. Your tireless work and dedication has been reflected. I'm sure I speak for many.......gratitude abides.

2nd Annual Lone Star Maule Roundup Wrap-up

Post by Russell461 »

I know...it's been a month or so and still no video. Well the wait is almost over.... Even today, some attendees sent me their video. A few more tweaks here and there and we can all re-live the fantastic weekend in Llano. Stay tuned.

Russell, that is a very nice video. Always fun to see it all over again. I do appreciate all the work you put into the video and for coordinating such a great time.

Thanks again.
