I would prefer that we have the flyin in Idaho or Eastern Oregon. Lots of back country strips to go to and lots of great fishing plus a lot closer for most of us. The California guys would have a very long trip to Montana. My vote is for Johnson Creek week of July 20 -22. Everyone knows that Johnson Creek has great facilities and is within easy flying distance to many beautiful strips. Who is organizing this year's flyin and will be making the final arrangements / decision, etc.? I'm seeing a lot of destination suggestions but can't tell who is the final decision maker.

Rick is hosting the fly-in up in Montana. Things are already in motion.

Our group does not appear to have a final decision maker. It appears that the Montana fly-in is a certainty. Some are considering this as the annual Maule fly-in.

We could also have Maule fly-in at Johnson Creek July 20-22. You would then have a choice of going to one or both fly-ins. I think that the more fly-ins mean more flying and more fun.

Dean--

The final word is dependant on who is willing to step up to the plate and Rick has done that so it looks like it is Montana by air we go!!

Look forward to seeing you all there!!

After the first couple flyins we put the word out for any brave soul who liked could take the lead. This year Rick of Montana has started the ball rolling, and done alot so far. There is a lot of open flying and landing sites in the area and just a few miles west are numerous tighter strips to test your skills. The front range there is a sight worth seeing if you hav'nt already. Hopefully we,ll get some Canadian Maules visiting and this venue makes it a little closer for those from the East

How about the float Maules showing up there as well? You seem to have some insight Jeremey.

Rick? How about the float guys being able to land on that lake?

I agree with you. Rick is doing the work in organizing the fly-in. People will be flying in from longer distances than California. Montana has some backcountry strips also for day flights. Maybe someone could research those.

Maybe one of the moderators should consider combining the threads into one at this point.

I think a Poker run or something like that to see a few of the local strips would be great.
