Sounds like a plan! Got Valier on the calendar. Thanks for setting it up.

Montana Maule Fly-in

Post by montana maule »

To answer some of the preceeding questions. Float planes can use the lake. It is 3 mi long and a mile wide at the greatest measurements. If you have to end up docking away from the campground I will have some type of transportation available.

There are 4 mountain strips, 6 landing sites in the Missouri River Breaks National Monument, and several local grass strips within an hours flight of Valier. Should be something for everybody if you want to sharpen your landing skills.

Keep checking the Fly-in link at www.montanabyair.com for updates.

Maule Fly In

Has anyone thought about all of us going to Oshkosh as our fly in some year? I am also anxious to get a date set. The second or last weekend in July work for me.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for stepping up to the plate. Sounds like a great place and I would come for sure were it not for a direct conflict that I can't get out of. We are having a memorial service for my wife's mother, in Vermont, that very same weekend.

I wish you guys all the success with this fly-in and will look forward to hearing all about it next year.

Don, sorry you can't make it the 29 June weekend, pity memorials can't be moved to Valier. If life were so simple we'd all be bored.

Glacier park

Post by TomD »

I seem to remember a note somewhere on the Maule Fly In thread that the folks up in Glacier park were rolling out the welcome carpet either during or after the Maule fly in.

Can anyone remember or fill me in on the details?

Thanx
tom

I think everything is ready. The grass has been mowed. The weather forecast looks good- highs in the low 80s - lows in the 50s - slight chance of afternoon thundershowers.

I will be around Friday morning to open the pavillion. Any questions call 406-949-5709 or email montanabyair@yahoo.comm.

Stuck

Post by a64pilot »

Any body else stuck? We are stuck at the Beaumont Motel. We got in when it was about 300 & 1/2. Now it's about 100 & 1/4 and raining hard.

The weather here has been great. Sunshine 75-80 and light winds. There might be afternoon thundershowers Thursday and Friday.
