Here is a VERY unofficial fly in schedule from the backcountry pilot group.

July 22-24 Stehekin (6S9)
August 19-21 Nehalem Bay (3S7)
September 9-11 McKenzie Bridge (00S)

Camping, swapping tales etc.

There will be Maules, but the more the merrier.

Also if you arrive or depart through Cascade pass the route put you in the Skagit River valley near Concrete, WA in case you want to drop in on their fly-in.

I was just at Nehalem Bay (3S7) last weekend. Beautiful place. I was lucky and it was CAVU, which can't be counted on there.

Some odd swirling winds on final due to the runway being perpindicular to the prevailing wind and the terrain effects. I'd recommend coming in at targer speed 65 MPH or so but a little high to prepare for the downdrafts. I had to add power on short final due to this.

The strip is plenty long for a Maule so if you touch down 100-300 feet past the numbers it won't hurt anything.

Also be careful to stay on the taxiway. There is a long well marked longitudinal ditch to avoid.

I finally got the HD time lapse of the flight from Stehekin to Cascade, WA via Cascade Pass created from my Drift HD.

The Sunday was a perfect day to fly in the Casdades.

Just a tip about camping at Nehalem Bay.
The wife and I camped there once and loved it! The down side was was visitors at about 3:00 AM. We had some food packed away in a large RubberMaid container along with the cooking utensils. This container was on the table about 30 inches off the ground. Apparently a couple of racoons caught a wiff off the food and went after the container. They ended up pushing the thing off the table on to the ground. We were awoke to the sound of pots and pans banging together.
Once it was daylight we looked around in the brush and found a wrapper to a loaf of bread and a few other items. So much for the French Toast we were going to have for breakfast!
The moral of the story is to take some rope to hoist your food up in a tree.
