Tornado Warning

Post by Doug »

Reminds me of a true story about "Bill" one of our beloved village idiots. Bill popped into our shop early one January morning where a few of us had gathered for a cup of coffee as we procrastinated getting some work done on a cold winter day. Quite excitedly Bill announced that on the radio they were giving out tornado warnings for April. He even looked out the window at the dark and snow laden clouds as if they affirming this ominous forecast.
We didn't really know what to say but offered him a cup of coffee. We had a big laugh after he left us. And, to this day, it's one of the "funny things" we say to each other.
In defense of Bill, they did issue a tornado warning or two that following April.

It will be good to have a gathering east of the river. What are the dates that you are thinking about? :D

May or June

Post by Doug »

Thinking about May or June but open to suggestions. It will most likely end up being a "Tailwheel Roundup" so more will feel welcome and, in fact, all will be welcome. Good food, kind folks, comfortable chairs, a few kids crazy about all things "aviation" and airplanes flying around are the essential elements so far. Pictures and specifics later.

Headed to Iowa today to look at a M5 project. But the weather is going in the crapper out there. Oh well, I don't mind getting my ticket wet every once in a while.

Doug, sounds like fun! I am willing if the weather is! Maybe I can hook up with Wayne for a two ship formation flight on the way down.

Sounds good Rod. I plan on going also so we will have to hook up if everything works out.

I stopped up at your hangar last weekend to see if you were around and met your partner who had the plane out.

The plane looks great. 8)
