need new lift strut

I had a minor incident and put a dent in the front lift strut on my Maule M-5. The ones I have installed are the sealed ones from AirFrames Alaska. They no longer sell the sealed lift struts and have gone to aluminum ones. Has anyone had any experience with the aluminum lift struts from AirFrames? Someone told me they have had problems with them.

I have non sealed struts. I do not care for the Airframes struts; they are not the same airfoil as the Maule struts and had two sets of them start corroding under the powder coating witch lead to the end of the struts from Airframes Alaska. If you see any ring worming under the powder coating pull them off! The aluminum struts are much larger in airfoil shape and have large bulging rivet heads on both sides of the struts not allowing the use of strut covers and fairings. I went back to using Maule struts only.

I have made the switch to aluminum struts. So far I am happy with them. I do have one sealed front strut that came off my Maule. The other three were non sealed. I assume somewhere along the way someone put a dent or bend in the original one. Anyway, I do like my aluminum struts and I have one used sealed front strut if you are interested in buying it. Let me know and I will send you some pictures.

I found a new old stock one at Glacier Aircraft Parts. They had it on the shelf for a long time and made me a great deal on it.
Thanks
