Franklin 220 transfer collar needed

Post by kenja »

We had some issues with our prop governor on our M4/220C and decided to have the transfer collar replaced. We ended up using a repair station who replaced our collar with a proprietary one that doesn’t work among a host of other issues they created on our engine in the process. The engine is now being completely overhauled to fix the issues. Does anyone know where we can source a 0.010” oversized transfer collar for a Franklin 220? We need it badly.

Do you have a picture of the part you need? I know of a guy in Troutdale that has several 220's and parts, but have no idea if he's looking to offload any of what he has. Have you tried Susan?

Sure. Here is a picture of what it looks like circled in red. No, I haven’t tried Susan, but I’m guessing my mechanic has. Let me check.

I should have one. Call Susan and tell her you want the transfer collar from K.C. Carpenters 220 that is at Chris’ machine shop.

Feel free to ask for any other parts you need. I have a fully overhauled case there as well if anyone needs it.

Thank you! Much appreciated. I’ve reached out to Susan and she is looking into it. Hopefully it is the 0.010” oversized version. We’ve got a number of standard sizes, but that one seems to be the hard one.

If you don’t have any luck there, try Chris Cullom at Airworx. 251-809-2959.

Chris is the one who has all my parts sitting in a basket.
