Clock

Post by drak130 »

Hey ya'll,

The clock in the airplane was rendered inoperative by the previous owner. He did not fly the plane much and apparently it was wired to the battery somehow and would drain the battery when the plane sat. I've looked at the wiring diagrams and nowhere is the clock shown. Bottom line is I could not find the "hot" wire so ran a new wire from the main bus bar. Now the clock works when the master is on. Since the clock was previously hot-wired, I am assuming that there was an inline fuse somewhere in the mix. Could not find that either.

So, now that I have verified that the clock actually works, anyone have any idea what size inline fuse to use? I have emailed the clock manufacture (Mitchell) but have not heard back yet.

Cheers
Tim

Conveniently I have a battery powered clock out of my M6 if you want to not slowly drain your airplane battery, Tim. Fits in a 2 1/4" hole.

Standard accepted procedure is to place inline fuse within 1 ft of battery box. No idea how yours was done.
