M4-220 McCauley Prop STC

Hey all. I have a m4-220 with an STC allowing the McCauley 2A34C201 propeller. The STC number is SA00454DE. The document I have is only one page. Is there someway to find out if this STC has more than one page??

Should the STC stipulate or indicate what the operating limitations should be? Should it stipulate what blade settings or static RPM limits should be??

I’m not aware of an STC for the 201. Lots of field approval 337’s but an STC! Can you upload a copy for curiosity sake.

Well, that look legit. You should have the supporting documents though. Those will give you the limits etc. I want to say Tom Lang was the guy that did the Cessna conversions out of the Colorado area. I think they still exist, worth a call anyways.

That STC was issued by the Denver ACO (Aircraft Certification Office). Why not just contact them to see if there are additional documents attached to that STC?

You mention you have a maule with the stc. Do you have the 201 prop on it. If not look at the last number on the STC paper work, -12 that makes it a 78 inch prop. The 201 is a great prop for the 220 Franklin but a 78 inch would be a waste of money. AS said there are 337's for the prop if looking to put one on. If not just keep a chinese tape measure handy.

Yes. The prop was installed on this particular airplane in 2007. The pitch stop settings were set at overhaul and never addressed again. There are a few discussions on this forum from years back addressing pitch stop settings and such. At that particular time the C201 was an amazing option. To the best of my knowledge the Propeller has never achieved 2800 RPM either static or during the take off roll. I’m trying to address that.

You should definitely hit 2800 static. Of course that depends on altitude but even then…. Mine is an 82” if I recall and if my gov doesn’t have enough oil it will rev well over 3000rpm static.

No…. I did not not get frozen and brought back.
Just bought this airplane after selling my m7. Now solving a few “issues”. The airplane performs just fine the way it is. BUT…I’d like to see the “available” 2800 RPM!!!

I believe mine is set at 9.5°
