If it is not one thing…

Post by crbnunit »

Fuel divider overhaul fixed the fuel leak. Now I think my voltage regulator took a squat and may have taken a com with it.
What are people doing with their 1970s regulators? What’s a good replacement?
You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

The old Lamar regulator company has been acquired by Zeftronics at some point in the past. I’ve been using a Zeftronics regulator with OV protection and quite happy with it.

I had been looking into this as well simply because my voltage regulator is the only piece of my electrical system that's still original from 1982. The zeftronics eligibility list is here which includes Maule models on three of the units.

The ones I was choosing between are are below. I can't really figure out the price difference. The more expensive one has screw terminals rather than pigtails but otherwise they seem to have the same capability.

R15V0L for $384

R15V0N for $513

I put a Lamar B00371-1 in mine 13 years ago. Hasn’t given me any trouble since.
