My experience has been similar, though it depends on where you are; in Alaska, likely less of an issue than in the lower 48. Also much more likely to get the hairy eyeball if the tape repair is on a control or lifting surface vs. the fuselage. And on something slow like a cub vs. something significantly faster. Be good to have the speed rating of the adhesive on that tape.
I’ve always felt that it was a good idea to carry tape that’s roughly the same color as the airplane.
Genuinely not trying to bust on anybody’s repair; was just wondering if I’d missed something very useful in 43.13.
