Fuel measuring stick

I use one of those big paint stir sticks from paint store. Put stick in and mark at top for full. Measure half way down for 1/2 full. Mark 1/4 and 3/4 if you like. I find this is accurate enough to tell me whats in the tank and takes 10 mins to make up. Use a big ring through a hole at top to keep the stick from falling in.

You would be better off reading the quantity gauges than making even marks from the full point.

The distance on the stick is not the same for each gallon added. It’s surprising what a difference there is, don’t have mine handy right now to show. I’ll take a pic next time I’m at the airport.
