Tail surface fabric the Maule way!

Post by johnmo61 »

Has anyone themselves physically fabric their tail surfaces using the Maule spec where they overlapped each panel?

I am interested on how you lapped the fabric around the ribs. Did you go around all 3 sides of the rib or did you just go over the top and side?

Did you overlap the panel 2 inches , starting from inside of the rib?

How wide was your tapes, so as to give you good distance over the fabric seam and rib edge?

Thanks
John

I hope someone ( Duane?) chimes in on this as the two Maules we looked at have three different techniques showing on the horizontal and elevators. The two sides must have been done at different shops? at different times?
Thanks
