Ok, dumb question:

Are all Maules certified under CAR 3? Or are some FAR 23 ?

I think it was CAR 3. I found this ASPEN STC document and it lists the certification basis for all Maules as CAR 3 Type Certificate 3A23: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR- ... -23835.htm. The M9 is more recent so it might be under Part 23.

Thanks Andy,
That’s what I thought, but nice to have someone corroborate.

Interestingly, all Maules are on the same Type Certificate. The link below takes you to the Type Certificate Data Sheet. The certification basis for the different models starts on page 38. Essentially it is indeed CAR 3 but some bits of FAR 23 apply to some models, especially the 420 (turboprop). It is also noise certified to FAR 36. Sorry, this is my day job, I could bore for my country on the subject :-)
