New style Door Latch Kit

Post by Millemr »

Has anyone installed the “new styleâ€￾ Door Latch Kit in their airplane?

I’m considering this on my M7, but the kits are $400 per door plus labor. Just trying to figure if it’s worth the investment?

Thanks in advance!

new door latches

Post by galtpilot »

There was a previous post on this. I installed the new latches at the request of my bride. She always had trouble with the old ones. I did the install myself with approval and inspection by my IA. Not hard to do but easier to use. The inside latch is new and the some knob is used on the outside. My wife loves them. Check the old posts on this. Jeremy weighed in with proper maintenance the old ones work well.

Thank you. After posting that I did find the previous threads. I went ahead and decided to get all three doors done. A little pricey but I’m looking forward to it.

[/img]Just started doing mine. The kit is complete, instructions good. Take your time with it, measure everything 3 times.
I’ll post more photos as I progress.

krautman67, your posts don't have the correct way of attaching images. The show up as links to postimg.cc but the image itself doesn't appear in the post,

You should be using the "Add image to post" blue link in the lower left below the post message box since you are using postimg.cc (postimg.org), which is integrated with the Maule Forum.

Are you having trouble?

Thanks for letting me know Andy!
Didn’t look tight to me either, but when I posted, the images showed up when you clicked on them. I will attempt to fix it.

Ok, I just tried it again with no luck. I used the blue “add image to post” button on the bottom left. I then select the image from my photo library. It lets me know that it was uploaded. This was done with an iPad. Can you see the image if you click the link? I also tried different image resizing options, right down to a thumbnail.

The new door latch system is going much smoother than trying to share it!

I'll send you a PM. The image that you tried to post from your iPad didn't show up.
