Fuel filter

I have the old style fuel filter on my 1975 M 5-210.

It is the one where you push the drain line up into the bottom of the filter to allow it to drain.

I have never like this style as I am afraid that air can be pulled into the filter at high power settings.

Now Maule says they no long stock parts and I should switch to the alternate filter.

I like the idea of the alternate filter but wonder how you reach the drain valve with it located so far up under the cowling.

Any one else out there had to make this change over?
