An update on my flaps

Post by Mountain Doctor »

OK, here's where I'm at.

I performed a close inspection on the ratchet and pawl, and there is no noticable wear on them. If I don't push the release button, and move the handle up and down, I can move it about an inch, mabe an inch and a half. This corresponds to about a 3-5 degree deflection of the flaps. Naturally in flight the flaps are 100% up because of the aerodynamic forces so it does not affect flight.

It looks like the whole mechanism moves just a little when I push the lever. Is this normal? Do I need to get this checked out?

Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Bill
