M4 fuselage needed for rebuild.

Post by carl »

Hi all !

My name is Carl, this is my first thread here on the forum.
I have a M4-210C that is undergoing what is more and more looking like
a total rebuild. The fuselage is sandblasted and inspected and things dont
look that good when you look close...

Due to this, the maintenance company and I have decided that we go looking for another fuselage.

If anyone can lead me in the right direction to find another fuselage in good condition I would be extrememly thankful. All offers are considered but if You have a fuselage that is stripped, inspected and primed, ready to be shipped, I would very much prefer that.

Thanks and best regards,

Carl.

Call the factory, you might be surprised how reasonable they are.

You could also order from the factory, only the part you need and splice it. From the complete bottom frame, or rear half or??
Maule can also sell individual clusters to be spliced in wherever required.

M4 Rebuild.

Post by carl »

Thanks for the infos regarding my question.
The main problem from the beginning was the availability of a jig and
welding approved staff. We would have to take the fuse to a place in
Norway to get the job done, thats where the jig went when the other place
in Sweden stopped doing these kinds of jobs.
Adding all the costs for all of this we came to the conclusion that we would be better of purchasing another fuselage since there was a lot of welding to be done on the old one.

Now it looks like we are going for a stage 4 fuselage from Maule.
Hopefully everyhting works out ok and I can post some pics here on the forum when she is on the step, ready to get airborne from our lake in the summer of 2008.

Thanks again,

Carl.
