I removed one of the screws that holds the gauge cluster in the panel. My panel has been repainted. The screws that hold the cluster in are just screwed into a tinnerman clip. I replaced the screw with a bolt and two star washers. I also put a ground wire on it and grounded it in another location. My cht reads way lower now. No flicker or random increases in temp. No change in fuel quantity. I also put a single mitchell cht gauge in that had some numbers on it. Where the two shades of green meet on the old gauge is 360 degrees.
For the guys I promised pictures of the cowling, I have them. Just having a little computer trouble.
