Rosen Sun Visors

Post by Chris in Milwaukee »

Not a “gizmoâ€￾ as much as a convenience (or safety item), but picked up a pair of Rosen sun visors at OSH this year. Spendy little buggers, but you know, certificated. Hope to get them on this week with a quick A&P sign off (hopefully).

It's somewhat surprising that our sunglasses don't have to be certificated! Oops, did I say that out loud?

Pricey yes but Rosen does a fine job. You won't regret it.

You'll like them Chris, It's nice to be able to reach up and grab some shade, not to mention that my follicley challenged brain cap thanks me when I shade the sky light with them.

Got them installed in minutes. Piece of cake. Now the shop can spend the next 28 hours doing the paperwork on the silly pieces of grey plastic. Form 337? Seriously? Bah...

There is a Maule drawing showing Rosen visors factory installed. Can’t you just reference the drawing number with a logbook entry?

I’m away from my computer for a while, but the drawing should be on the parts disk.

Yep, STC. They used my bird as the test for the STC. I can probably dig up the stc if needed.

Mine came with STC paperwork, too, which is why I thought it was weird. I’m ignorant to the process, though.

Found the drawing: #8039E

I'll give the shop a call and try to save them some time and effort. Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks for the drawing tip! I sent them the drawing and they signed it off in the logs, lickity split :)
